I Am Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABACAB DEDDFF GHGHII| I am yet what I am none cares or knows | A |
| My friends forsake me like a memory lost | B |
| I am the self consumer of my woes | A |
| They rise and vanish in oblivious host | C |
| Like shadows in love's frenzied stifled throes | A |
| And yet I am and live like vapors tossed | B |
| - | |
| Into the nothingness of scorn and noise | D |
| Into the living sea of waking dreams | E |
| Where there is neither sense of life or joys | D |
| But the vast shipwreck of my life's esteems | D |
| Even the dearest that I love the best | F |
| Are strange nay rather stranger than the rest | F |
| - | |
| I long for scenes where man hath never trod | G |
| A place where woman never smiled or wept | H |
| There to abide with my Creator God | G |
| And sleep as I in childhood sweetly slept | H |
| Untroubling and untroubled where I lie | I |
| The grass below above the vaulted sky | I |
