| I am the self consumer of my woes | A |

| Where there is neither sense of life or joys | D |
| But the vast shipwreck of my life's esteems | D |

| I long for scenes where man hath never trod | G |
| A place where woman never smiled or wept | H |
| There to abide with my Creator God | G |
| And sleep as I in childhood sweetly slept | H |
| Untroubling and untroubled where I lie | I |
