Hereafter. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDEFEFGHAh when this world and I have shaken hands | A |
And all the frowns of this sad life got through | B |
When from pale Care and Sorrow's dismal lands | A |
I turn a welcome and a wish'd adieu | B |
How blest and happy to eternal day | C |
To endless happiness without a pain | D |
Will my poor weary spirit sail away | C |
That long long look'd for better place to gain | D |
How sweet the scenes will open on her eye | E |
Where no more troubles no more cares annoy | F |
All the sharp troubles of this life torn by | E |
And safely moor'd in heaven's eternal joy | F |
Sweet will it seem to Fate's oppressed worm | G |
As trembling Sunbeams creeping from the storm | H |
