Helpstone Church-yard. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFGFGHGHH

What makes me love thee now thou dreary sceneA
And see in each swell'd heap a peaceful bedB
I well remember that the time has beenC
To walk a church yard when I us'd to dreadB
And shudder'd as I read upon the stoneD
Of well known friends and next door neighbours goneE
But then I knew no cloudy cares of lifeF
Where ne'er a sunbeam comes to light me thoroughG
A stranger then to this world's storms and strifeF
Where ne'er a charm is met to lull my sorrowG
I then was blest and had not eyes to seeH
Life's future change and Fate's severe to morrowG
When all those ills and pains should compass meH
With no hope left but what I meet in theeH

Barbara : found the poem in an open book used to illustrate how felted bookmarkers can be placed to keep ones spot in the reading... in the Landscape Magazine from the UK
...liked the poem especially since today I was also reading some quotes byMarcus Aurielius about luck and no luck
