Firwood Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGGHBGG

The fir trees taper into twigs and wearA
The rich blue green of summer all the yearB
Softening the roughest tempest almost calmC
And offering shelter ever still and warmD
To the small path that towels underneathE
Where loudest winds almost as summer's breathF
Scarce fan the weed that lingers green belowG
When others out of doors are lost in frost and snowG
And sweet the music trembles on the earH
As the wind suthers through each tiny spearB
Makeshifts for leaves and yet so rich they showG
Winter is almost summer where they growG
