Effusion. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABCDDEEFGHHIIJJKKLL MMNOPPKKHQLLKKRRKKSS TTKKUUVVKKWXWX

Ah little did I think in time that's pastA
By summer burnt or numb'd by winter's blastA
Delving the ditch a livelihood to earnB
Or lumping corn out in a dusty barnC
With aching bones returning home at nightD
And sitting down with weary hand to writeD
Ah little did I think as then unknownE
Those artless rhymes I even blush'd to ownE
Would be one day applauded and approv'dF
By learning notic'd and by genius lov'dG
God knows my hopes were many but my painH
Damp'd all the prospect which I hop'd to gainH
I hardly dar'd to hope Thou corner chairI
In which I've oft slung back in deep despairI
Hadst thou expression thou couldst easy tellJ
The pains and all that I have known too wellJ
'Twould be but sorrow's tale yet still 'twould beK
A tale of truth and passing sweet to meK
How oft upon my hand I've laid my headL
And thought how poverty deform'd our shedL
Look'd on each parent's face I fain had cheer'dM
Where sorrow triumph'd and pale want appear'dM
And sigh'd and hop'd and wish'd some day would comeN
When I might bring a blessing to their homeO
That toil and merit comforts had in storeP
To bid the tear defile their cheeks no moreP
Who that has feelings would not wish to beK
A friend to parents such as mine to meK
Who in distress broke their last crust in twainH
And though rant pinch'd the remnant broke againQ
And still if craving of their scanty breadL
Gave their last mouthful that I might be fedL
Nor for their own wants tear drops follow'd freeK
Worse anguish stung they had no more for meK
And now hope's sun is looking brighter outR
And spreading thin the clouds of fear and doubtR
That long in gloomy sad suspense to meK
Hid the long waited smiles I wish'd to seeK
And now my parents helping you is sweetS
The rudest havoc fortune could completeS
A piteous couple little blest with friendsT
Where pain and poverty have had their endsT
I'll be thy crutch my father lean on meK
Weakness knits stubborn while its bearing theeK
And hard shall fall the shock of fortune's frownU
To eke thy sorrows ere it breaks me downU
My mother too thy kindness shall be metV
And ere I'm able will I pay the debtV
For what thou'st done and what gone through for meK
My last earn'd sixpence will I break with theeK
And when my dwindled sum won't more divideW
Then take it all to fate I'll leave the restX
In helping thee I'll always feel a prideW
Nor think I'm happy till ye both are blestX
