Goals Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CDEE FFGG HHII JKLL MMNN OPQR

As a child I dreamt of many thingsA
Astonished by the joyous imaginations that life bringsA
Ideas that developed into experienceB
Toppled my very intelligenceB
-
I live each day as an adventureC
With hopes of success and many moreD
In pursuing dreams one may think is wildE
Dreams that where programmed as a childE
-
Everyday I put in my utter bestF
With hopes of being better than the restF
Yes It makes senseG
But the road however is very tenseG
-
I build action plans with dates to achieveH
It will happen I do believeH
It's not overwhelming but rather quite simpleI
Have faith and everything is possibleI
-
Goals give us focusJ
Having thoughts of becoming a doctor or a nurseK
My goal is my passionL
A great man in the future I envisionL
-
My goal as a youth was just about making merryM
But then thought of how youths ended up in the cemeteryM
By college I was unsettled by my probing thoughtsN
Admiring the brilliance of astronautsN
-
I then realized there's only changeO
With only a smashed goal that could pay the wageP
I finally had to set my goalsQ
And rebranded my thoughts as a wholeR
