The Ballad Of The Tempest Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE GHIH JKLK MNAN AODO

We were crowded in the cabinA
Not a soul would dare to sleepB
It was midnight on the watersC
And a storm was on the deepB
-
'Tis a fearful thing in winterD
To be shattered by the blastE
And to hear the rattling trumpetF
Thunder Cut away the mastE
-
So we shuddered there in silenceG
For the stoutest held his breathH
While the hungry sea was roaringI
And the breakers talked with DeathH
-
As thus we sat in darknessJ
Each one busy with his prayersK
We are lost the captain shoutedL
As he staggered down the stairsK
-
But his little daughter whisperedM
As she took his icy handN
Isn't God upon the oceanA
Just the same as on the landN
-
Then we kissed the little maidenA
And we spoke in better cheerO
And we anchored safe in harborD
When the morn was shining clearO
