Rhyme Scheme: AABB AABB AACC AACC DDAA EEAA AAFG

Where frosts doth northern bays congealA
There you will find the finest sealA
They do pursue them o'er each bayB
From early dawn till close of dayB
-
The Indians display great zealA
Engaged in hunting of the sealA
And ladies love for to displayB
Their seal furs from this famous bayB
-
Most precious of all furs is sealA
Their flesh is good as finest vealA
And the seal it is a squatterC
Lives on either land or waterC
-
The Indian boys happy feelA
When they capture the young sealA
They do seem so happy everC
Sailing o'er each bay and riverC
-
They train them their canoes to towD
And o'er the waters merry goD
Full quick to right or left they wheelA
Guided by reins the docile sealA
-
Like lad on colt without a saddleE
These youths use no oar nor paddleE
But swift o'er water rushes keelA
For 'tis propelled by the fast sealA
-
To Uncle Sam we do appealA
How can you own the whole sea's sealA
And at the same time claim our codF
If from the shore a mile abroadG
