Town And Country Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF

About the country they may talk who willA
Who praise it ever to the town's despiteB
Let him extol the charms of wood and hillA
Who finds them peerless None disputes his rightB
-
For me the town Each well worn footway oldC
To me is dearer than your grass grown laneD
Not all who struggle here contend for goldC
Green growing things quit not the soul of painD
-
God made the country Ay and God made manE
Working through man His power He displaysF
And in the city's mazes His great planE
Is writ as clear as in calm country waysF
