To Leuconoë . I-11 (from The Odes Of Horace) Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDD

Seek not to learn Leucono a mortal may not knowA
What term of life on you or me our deities bestowA
The Babylonian soothsayer consult not better bearB
Whatever comes whether to you more winters Jove shall spareB
Or whether this may be the last grinding the Tuscan seaC
On yonder rocks Even as we talk time envious shall fleeC
Filter your wine be wise and clip your hopes to life's brief spanD
Then seize today to morrow trust as little as you canD
