The Summer House Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Midway upon the lawn it standsA
So picturesque and prettyB
Upreared by patient artist handsA
Admired of all the cityB
The very arbor of my dreamC
A covert cool and airyB
So leaf embowered as to seemC
The dwelling of a fairyB
-
It is the place to lie supineD
Within a hammock swingingE
To watch the sunset red as wineD
To hear the crickets singingE
And while the insect world aroundF
Is buzzing by the millionG
No winged thing above the groundF
Intrudes in this pavilionG
-
It is the place at day's declineD
To tell the old old storyB
Behind the dark Madeira vineD
Behind the morning gloryB
To confiscate the rustic seatH
And barter stolen kissesI
For honey must be twice as sweetH
In such a spot as this isJ
-
It is the haunt where one may getK
Relief from petty troubleL
May read the latest day's gazetteK
About the Klondike bubbleL
How shanties rise like golden courtsM
Where sheep wear glittering fleecesJ
How gold is picked up by the quartzM
And all get rich as CroesusM
-
Here hid away from dust and heatH
Secure from rude intrusionG
While willing lips the thought repeatH
So grows the fond illusionG
That happiness the product isM
Of lazy languid dozingE
Of soft midsummer reveriesM
Half waking half reposingE
-
And here in restful interludeN
Life's fallacies forgettingE
Its frailties such a multitudeN
The fuming and the frettingE
Amid the fragrance dusk and dewO
The happy soul at evenP
May walk abroad and interviewO
Bright messengers from HeavenG
