So soon he fell the world will never knowA
What possibilities within him layB
What hopes irradiated his young lifeC
With high ambition and with ardor rifeC
But ah the speedy summons came and soA
He passed awayB
-
So soon he fell there lie unfinished plansD
By others misapplied misunderstoodE
And doors are barred that wait the master keyF
That wait his magic Open SesameF
To that assertive power that commandsG
The multitudeH
-
Too soon he fell Was he not born to proveI
What manhood and integrity might beF
How one from all base elements apartJ
Might walk serene in purity of heartJ
His face the bright transparency of loveK
And sympathyF
-
The student ranks are closed there is no gapL
Of other brave aspirants is no dearthM
Prowess fidelity and truth go onN
And few shall miss or mourn the student goneO
Reposing in the all protecting lapL
Of Mother EarthM
-
Too soon O God was it thy will that oneP
Of such endeavor and of noble mienQ
Enrapt with living should thus early goA
From all he loved and all who loved him soA
Mid life's activities no longer knownR
No longer seenQ
-
Oh not for aye should agonizing lipsS
Quiver with questionings they dare not frameT
Though in the dark penumbra of despairU
Seemeth no light nor comfort anywhereU
All things enshadowed as in dense eclipseS
No more the sameT
-
Could we but know in that Elysian loreV
Of happy exercise still going onN
Could we but know of glorious heights attainedW
Of his reward of mysteries explainedW
Ah but to know were to lament no moreV
The student goneO
