| Beyond the radiant sky | K |

| Because of her expiring throes | G |
| As if around her tomb | L |
| Unmeet it were the look severe | M |
| That designates a common bier | N |
| Enwreathed in deepest gloom | L |

| Can be so fair where death is not | K |
| If Heaven's loveliness | G |
| Is born of struggle and decay | H |
| And but for funeral array | H |

| That Earth's unrivaled brilliancy | G |

| That Heaven were not what it is | G |
