In the court of clouds where silence spokeA
God turned to SatanB
Have you seen my servant JobC
Blameless upright untouched by stormD
And the serpent smiledE
Strip him bareF
And watch the truth emerge from flesh and dustG
-
This the seed of all we knowH
What if all we knowH
Was planted in soil not made for rootsI
What if certainty was only shadowH
Thrown by a flickering flameJ
-
We built our towers on the bones of thus saysK
Etched belief into bloodL
Taught the child to kneelM
Before they asked whyN
And in our hunger for the skyN
We forgot to read the earthO
-
Yet the earth remembersP
-
It remembers JobC
Ash covered arguing with silenceQ
Not for loss but for meaningR
He did not curse the skyN
He questioned itS
And in the questionB
Was the shape of changeT
-
What is growth but the betrayal of ignoranceQ
What is evolution but love made boldU
Enough to let goH
Of what once was sacredL
-
We speak in tonguesV
Not only of angelsW
But of ancestryX
Tribal tongues national songsY
Creeds that divideZ
Skin that definesA2
Flags that wave like godsB2
-
Brother turns from brotherC2
For worshiping another nameJ
Of the same breathD2
-
Yet each war sings the same songE2
This truth is mine aloneF2
And each peace whispersP
We were never meant to be aloneF2
-
Unity is not samenessG2
Diversity is not dissonanceQ
Both are seasonsH2
In the orchard of becomingR
Winter and springR
Obey both the sunB
And the soilI2
-
We are made of bothJ2
-
And the CreatorC2
Not tethered to timeK2
But bending itS
WaitsL2
-
Waits not in templesW
But in turningR
Not in altarsP
But in awakeningR
-
There s an Ogoni sayingR
You do not explain a parableM2
To one born of its tongueN2
For meaning given too soonO2
Becomes a cageP2
But meaning foundQ2
Becomes a pathR2
-
Let the young find the fireC2
Not in the tellingR
But in the burnS2
And rise from itS
KnowingR
-
So let us come downT2
Down from the myths that made us cruelM2
Down from the hills of inherited hateU2
Down to earthO
Where truth grows slowH
But roots deepV2
-
Let us meet thereF
Not to be rightW2
But to be realM
Not to conquerC2
But to understandX2
-
Let the dust we areY2
Remind us of what we re notZ2
And what we might yet becomeA3
