Clean Saliva From A Smelling Mouth (revised) Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AB CBDEF GHIJ KLMN OPQRR STJG UKKVW XNYZ

Will holiness remain trappedA
a prisoner in the custody of the tongueB
-
We scrub the mouthC
but greed still clings to the tongueB
envy festers deep in the gumsD
as if words like teethE
can rot from withinF
-
The ear listens decent and fairG
welcoming every sound without judgmentH
but sentencing the mindI
to a life of doubtJ
-
Through her truth and liesK
force their way into innocenceL
both pressing their caseM
before a bewildered intellectN
-
The Eye and the NoseO
are dragged to the witness standP
trembling as they confessQ
I saw itR
I sensed itR
-
The mind overwhelmed collapsesS
first unconsciousT
then slipping into doubtJ
later waking fully awareG
-
Now it begins its workU
to evaluate criticizeK
and endlessly scrutinizeK
the fragile lineV
between belief and deceptionW
-
Therefore making change inevitableX
making sense imperfectly perfectN
making humans completely incompleteY
making life as old as newZ
