-
These are the holy ten commandsB
Which came to us from God's own handsB
By Moses who thus did his willC
On the top of Sinai's hillC
KyrioleisB
-
I am the Lord thy God aloneD
Of Gods besides thou shalt have noneE
Thou shalt thyself trust all to meF
And love me right heartilyF
KyrioleisB
-
Thou shalt not speak like idle wordG
The name of God who is thy LordH
As right or good thou shalt not praiseB
Except what God does and saysB
KyrioleisB
-
Thou shalt keep holy the seventh dayI
That rest thou and thy household mayI
From thine own work thou must keep freeF
That God his work have in theeF
KyrioleisB
-
Honour thou shall and shalt obeyI
Thy father and thy mother alwayJ
To serve them ready be thy handK
That thou live long in the landK
KyrioleisB
-
In anger hot thou shalt not killC
Nor hate nor take revenge for illC
Be patient and of gentle moodL
And ev'n to thy foe do goodM
KyrioleisB
-
Thy marriage bond thou shalt keep cleanN
That to no other thy heart leanN
Thy life thou must keep pure and freeF
Temperate with fine chastityF
KyrioleisB
-
Money or goods steal not nor yetO
Traffic in others' blood and sweatO
But open wide thy kindly handK
To the poor man in thy landK
KyrioleisB
-
Evil reports thou shalt not bearP
Nor 'gainst thy neighbour falsely swearP
His innocence thou shalt defendQ
And hide his shame from foe or friendQ
KyrioleisB
-
Thy neighbour's wife or house to winR
Thou shalt not seek or aught thereinR
But wish all good to him may beF
As thy own heart doth to theeF
KyrioleisB
-
To us come these commands that soB
Thou son of man thy sins mayst knowB
And with this lesson thy heart fillC
That man must live for God's willC
KyrioleisB
-
May Christ our Lord help us in thisB
For he our mediator isB
Our own work is a hopeless thingS
Wrath alone all it can bringS
KyrioleisB

And dwell with God eternallyF

Thy God and Lord I am alwayJ

Thy heart must ever trust in meF
Mine own kingdom shalt thou beF
KyrioleisB

My name to honour thou shalt heedT
