To E. G., Dedicating A Book Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAC DEDE FGFG

A broken tale of endless thingsA
Take lady thou art not of thoseB
Who in what vale a fountain springsA
Would have its journey closeC
-
Countless beginnings fair first partsD
Leap to the light and shining flowE
All broken things or toys or heartsD
Are mended where they goE
-
Then down thy stream with hope filled sailF
Float faithful fearless on loved friendG
'Tis God that has begun the taleF
And does not mean to endG
