The Lord gaed wi' a crood o' menA
Throu Jericho the bonnyB
'Twas ill the Son o' Man to kenA
Mang sons o' men sae monyB

To see the Maister seekitD
He speilt a fig tree bauld an' shyC
An' sae his shortness ekitD

But as he thoucht to see his backE
Roun turnt the haill face til 'imF
Up luikit straucht an' til 'im spakE
His hert gaed like to kill 'imF

Come doun Zacchay bestir yerselG
This nicht I want a lodginB
Like a ripe aipple 'maist he fellG
Nor needit ony nudginB

But up amang the unco guidD
There rase a murmurin won'erH
This is a deemis want o' heedD
The man's a special sinnerH

Up spak Zacchay his hert ableezeI
Half mine the puir Lord hae itD
Gien oucht I've taen by ony leesI
