In Bonds Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AAAABB CCDEFF

Of the poor bird that cannot flyA
Kindly you think and mournfullyA
For prisoners and for exiles allA
You let the tears of pity fallA
And very true the grief should beB
That mourns the bondage of the freeB
-
The soul she has a fatherlandC
Binds her not many a tyrant's handC
And the winged spirit has a homeD
But can she always homeward comeE
Poor souls with all their wounds and foesF
Will you not also pity thoseF
