The Horror Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A B C D E F B G H I J K H L

I saw myself go through abandoned roomsA
-
The stars danced crazily on blue groundB
-
And on the fields the dogs howled loudC
-
And in the treetops the foehn rummaged wildlyD
-
But suddenly stillness Stuffy fever glowE
-
Lets poisonous flowers bloom from my mouthF
-
From the branches like from a woundB
-
Pale gleaming dew falls and falls and falls like bloodG
-
From a mirror's deceitful emptinessH
-
A countenance slowly lifts in the vaguenessI
-
Out of horror and darkness CainJ
-
Very quietly the velvet curtains rustleK
-
Through the window the moon looks as if into emptinessH
-
There I am alone with my murdererL
