Rhyme Scheme: ABAAC DEFGHIJ KLMNOP QRISTU

Great friends we wereA
Before satan's trap we steppedB
During that winterA
We once ate togetherA
We played and spent the little timeC
-
My friend had a callD
A new job could landE
He travelled years agoF
To the city he wentG
A new life beganH
It is ten yearsI
I haven't heard of himJ
-
His class rose highK
His friends changed tooL
When I saw him comeM
I ran to kiss him in joyN
His accent had changedO
I never heard what he saidP
-
In a little voice I heardQ
What this little beggar forR
I couldn't believe my earsI
I turned to tearsS
My breath slowed downT
I felt silent and coldU
