A Promise. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCEFGFGHIHIJAJA KKKKAAABAB

In the dark lonely nightA
When sleep and silence keep their watch o'er menB
False love in thy despiteA
I will be with thee thenB
When in the world of dreams thy spirit straysC
Seeking in vain the peace it finds not hereD
Thou shalt be led back to thine early daysC
Of life and love and I will meet thee thereE
I'll come to thee with the bright sunny browF
That was Hope's throne before I met with theeG
And then I'll show thee how 'tis furrowed nowF
By the untimely age of miseryG
I'll speak to thee in the fond joyous toneH
That wooed thee still with love's impassioned spellI
And then I'll teach thee how I've learnt to moanH
Since last upon thine ear its accents fellI
I'll come to thee in all youth's brightest powerJ
As on the day thy faith to mine was plightedA
And then I'll tell thee weary hour by hourJ
How that spring's early promise has been blightedA
I'll tell thee of the long long dreary yearsK
That have passed o'er me hopeless objectlessK
My loathsome days my nights of burning tearsK
My wild despair my utter lonelinessK
My heart sick dreams upon my feverish bedA
My fearful longing to be with the deadA
In the dark lonely nightA
When sleep and silence keep their watch o'er menB
False love in thy despiteA
We two shall meet againB
