Where The Souls Go Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCC DEFF DGHI JKLL MNOP QRST UVWW ABCC

There are men and women alikeA
Who speak about life after deathB
Telling the scriptural portrayal of heaven and hellC
Two opposing pictures of where men shall ever dwellC
-
There's somewhere the souls goD
After the certain and eerie attackE
That draws the breath from the centerF
The prophets of God had warned of the disasterF
-
Then there s somewhere the souls goD
After the body's reunification with the soilG
And past the solemnity of the graveyardH
Where kind hopes and promises are murderedI
-
Every case shall be brought again on the dayJ
The resurrection day and the proofs shall be sufficientK
Angels have written by themselves the scrollsL
God will be the judge the Creator of the soulsL
-
The air will be silent but eyes will be openM
The limbs will speak and witness only truthN
Of the righteousness of souls before passing the throatO
Punishment is for the accused and Paradise for the devoutP
-
For all that merriment and adorned mischiefQ
Vacancy and carelessness smeared with easeR
There are only a few who turn away in fearS
Knowing the tests and hating to despairT
-
A purpose there is for the greenness of grassU
Then surely one too exists for this passing lifeV
To know and worship God how He commandedW
So we'd return to that paradise we had once tastedW
-
There are men and women alikeA
Who speak about life after deathB
Telling the scriptural portrayal of heaven and hellC
Two opposing pictures of where men shall ever dwellC
