To Ligurinus I Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFEFGBGB

Though mighty in Love's favor stillA
Though cruel yet my boyB
When the unwelcome dawn shall chillA
Your pride and youthful joyB
The hair which round your shoulder growsC
Is rudely cut awayD
Your color redder than the roseC
Is changed by youth's decayD
-
Then Ligurinus in the glassE
Another you will spyF
And as the shaggy face alasE
You see your grief will cryF
Why in my youth could I not learnG
The wisdom men enjoyB
Or why to men cannot returnG
The smooth cheeks of the boyB
