Poet's note: Sometimes, sane people exhibit behaviours that look abnormal and inconsistent with the behaviour of normal people. The Igbo have a saying that the mad man says when he wants to speak other things would enter his mouth. The poem continues the idea in "Season of Madness" and "Wisdom and Power." The poet looks at the behaviour of the decampee Governor and his utterances as being inconsistent with the behaviour of normal people.
