Poet's note: The expectation of every farmer is to reap a bountiful harvest. However, in many Nigerian communities in recent years it is not the case. Farmers plant but don't reap because Fulani herdsmen take their cattle into farms and destroy the crops. At the end of the season the farmers have nothing to harvest because the crops have been eaten up by the cows. The poem descries this.
