Difference had begunC
Many a bitterness had beenD
But that old sort was doneC

Or if it sometime showed as 'twillE
Upon the Downiest MornF
Such bliss had I for all the yearsG
'Twould give an Easier painH
-
I'd so much joy I told it RedB
Upon my simple CheekI
I felt it publish in my EyeJ
'Twas needless any speakI
-
I walked as wings my body boreK
The feet I former usedL
Unnecessary now to meM
As boots would be to BirdsN
-
I put my pleasure all abroadO
I dealth a word of GoldP
To every Creature that I metQ
And Dowered all the WorldR
-
When suddenly my Riches shrankS
A Goblin drank my DewT
My Palaces dropped tenantlessN
Myself was beggared tooT
-
I clutched at soundsN
I groped at shapesN
I touched the tops of FilmsN
I felt the Wilderness roll backU
Along my Golden linesN
-
The Sackcloth hangs upon the nailE
The Frock I used to wearV
But where my moment of BrocadeW
My drop of IndiaX
