To An African Girl In Limbo Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EFG HAI JCAK L MNOPM

Let me take thee to the futureA
Where dreams lay untappedB
In perfect cord of unsoiled worldC
You're all that I wantD
-
O' beauteous African girlE
To see thee in limbo floods me with tearsF
Let me walk thee out of solitary where you sit like a forgotten angel in the night of a wounded soul and jilted like a soiled robe on the floor in shreds layG
-
Sail with me thru' unwavering ocean tideH
Or shall Cupid ferry us thru'A
For i was likewise a wounded soul and my wings chiseled out but to rise again in an eagle's strength love with jealousyI
-
Shall you hold my hands thru' mountains highJ
Above the flooded worldC
Or in my heart to make a hamlet where you shall reign with scepterA
Let me be all the world where hate and tears neither visitsK
-
Hark my heart beat in echoes of your name calling to love till ages comeL
-
I'm all the flute in a pine gardenM
Shall I sing you a lilt of euphonious cordN
To see thee in your beauty againO
And peace to bring in my warmest embraceP
To love thee in endless passionM
