An Angel In The Night Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AA BCD AEFBC EBGH IJB JKCG BL

In my dream was a beautiful womanA
Resplendent like the effulgence of the yellow mellow moon smiling on the horizonA
-
The night was gross dark and foggyB
Drab and lonely shrank my ribsC
My desire like coal flamed into the wild unknownD
-
In my dream was this beautiful womanA
She lay by the bedside uncladE
And her countenance like angels descendingF
Wild desire sprang in meB
Like sparks of awoken thunderboltsC
-
If I'd never touch you tonightE
Shall I not restless beB
If to behold an angel I find my life no moreG
In heaven I'd find us in the aislewayH
-
O beautiful angelI
Let's dance the dance of loveJ
And dance into the wild of ecstasyB
-
Shall I taste the fruit of your loveJ
I shall never hung againK
Or sip of your orange wallsC
Shall I thirst no moreG
-
Just when the living water sprang outer meB
Oh I awoke from my dreamL
