In your womb, whence I came
to me was the best and peaceful place.
I became born and you gave me a name
since then, you became my strength and brace.
as a youth, you ignored fame
and your responsibilities you embrace.
things were hard, never a game
but you got set, and picked up the race.
till I grew, things didn't change but same
and there were more things you had to face.
you covered me like the hame
and endured the bace.
you suffered hardship and shame
you never gave up but increased your pace.
it got to a point you became lame
and the solution you can't trace.
but you endured and never rame.
our dreams you still chase.
neither me or my dad did you blame.
you cried and prayed for grace.
what kept you company all day was grame.
you have nothing to wear but a lace.
there was no actual brame
but you believe you will one day dwell in the palace.
But hey Leka!
I see all your sorrow
I know sometime, for us to feed you had to borrow
I know how our paths has been so narrow
I know you've helped me escape bullet and arrow
and I see that you believe in tomorrow.
don't cry mum, I'll make you proud.

Poet's note: This is the struggle most of our mothers go through just to keep things together.
I promised to make mine never remember all those years again.
