How can we cause this land to seeA
Through the history of you and meA
-
Exposing a system that for so longB
Produced results that are so wrongB
-
A justice system of retributionC
Diminishing the impact of true restitutionC
-
An attitude that is so sublimeD
You did the crime now do the timeD
-
What exactly do we learnE
Are we destined to returnE
-
A society with no understandingF
Continually screaming and demandingF
-
Return the death sentence with all it's mightG
Do two wrongs really make a rightG
-
God's laws advocates furtherH
Thou shall not commit murderH
-
A command that today still standsI
Do we really want blood on our handsI
-
Restorative Justice we should embraceJ
As offenders our steps we retraceJ
-
Allowing victims to speak and explainK
Venting their suffering and easing their painK
-
Re integation and reformL
Belong to inmates who have this platformL
-
Restorative justice has the scopeM
To accept the punishment yet offer the hopeM
-
Always focussed and sure to mentionC
That through Christ we have redemptionC
-
If past behaviours we can mendN
Then into society we'll successfully blendN
