Too often we tend to weep
Forgetting what we sow we reap

How soon do we forget
All the times we suffered regret

Just as soon as all is well
Our choices lead us straight to hell

In our minds we conjur excuses
For actions that are utterly useless

Yes, our spirits will convict
Of incorrect paths that we pick

Bad consequences we could avoid
If with evil we never toyed

How many loved ones will we hurt
By being occupied with dirt

When will we reach a point
Never again to dissappoint

No-one else is to blame
We chose to inflict hurt and shame

Wisdom lies in all of us
If our instincts we could trust

Devastating results are insurmountable
Rejecting those who hold us accountable

Exactly where is our intellect
When good advice we chose to reject
