Our Street Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE GHGH GIJI AKLK MNON

In our street the main streetA
Running thro' the townB
You see a lot of busy folkC
Going up and downB
-
Bag men and basket menD
Men with loads of hayE
Buying things and selling thingsF
And carting things awayE
-
The butcher is a funny manG
He calls me Dandy DickH
The baker is a cross manG
I think he's often sickH
-
The fruiterer's a nice manG
He gives me apples tooI
The grocer says Good morning boyJ
What can I do for youI
-
Of all the men in our streetA
I like the cobbler bestK
Tapping tapping at his lastL
Without a minute's restK
-
Talking all the time he tapsM
Driving in the nailsN
Smiling with his old grey eyesO
Hush telling fairy talesN
