tween pillar and post | B |
and there for a moment | C |
he felt he could boast | B |
a foot in each camp | D |
with his head in a cloud | E |
His past well behind him | F |
bright future avowed | E |

Time waits for no man | G |
ain t that what they say | H |
To turn back the clock | I |
there is surely no way | H |
But still there it sits | J |
and smiles back at him | F |
He searches for peace | K |
but the pickings are slim | F |

The person he is | L |
and the one he once was | M |
They are not the same | N |
and that is because | O |
Once he left his home | P |
a new world he found | Q |
The once mindless drone | R |
glimpsed potential unbound | Q |

But whether it s nature | S |
or nurture you choose | T |
Still there are some spots | U |
that the leopard can t lose | T |
Though him of this notion | V |
you can t disabuse | W |
And some of his friends | X |
this fact can bemuse | T |

And once it s all said | Y |
and once it s all done | V |
His move from the jungle | Z |
it can t be undone | V |
But looking around | Q |
at the bars in the zoo | A2 |
This new home don t suit him | F |
not welcome here too | A2 |
