To me thy father as the morning light | B |

For long there was a darkness round my heart | A |
Until thy mother made her life a part | A |
Of mine to pierce it with Love s genial might | B |
The Aurora she and the young Morning thou | C |
Of a new era in my worldly way | D |
Whence it behoves me heedfully to plough | C |
The future for thy sake and for the vow | C |
That I have made to make thee if I may | D |
A Man right worthy of our Australia | E |
