Hope On Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AAAAAAAABABBAAAA AAAAAAAA

Power's a cheat success but tryingA
Even pleasure bears a stingA
Still tis useless useless sighingA
Rather list to Hope replyingA
The flowers must come again with springA
And in the trampled way we re goingA
Streams of comfort yet are flowingA
Hark I hear them murmuringA
Fame s a liar in the nationB
Love hath oft a wayward wingA
Still hence seek not for occasionB
To impugn Hope s sweet persuasionB
The flowers will come again with springA
And in the world wide way we re goingA
Streams of pure good yet are flowingA
Hark I hear them murmuringA
-
Friendship turns itself denyingA
Even Truth the heart may wringA
Still though trust be daily dyingA
Listen still to Hope replyingA
The flowers will come again with springA
And in the blasted way we re goingA
There s yet one healing current flowingA
Hark I hear it murmuringA
