A Dream Of The Orient Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABCCCBDDEFFFE GGHEEEH IIHJJJH KKHLLLH

With a resplendent Eastern brideA
Like a houri at my sideA
And music round us swellingB
Mid odours of so rare a steamC
That like a breath of love they seemC
Dwell I through a radiant dreamC
In an orient dwellingB
Near a fair fountain flashing highD
In the pleasure court we lieD
Each on a gorgeous pillowE
The columned water mounting breaksF
In outward curves and falling flakesF
Till the whole a picture makesF
Of a crystal willowE
-
Wide round us galleried walls extendG
Pierced with arcs and aisles that bendG
On wreathen pillars slenderH
While hung in every vista loE
Such clouds of blazoned banners glowE
As in very semblance showE
A constant sunset splendourH
-
And virgin faces darkly brightI
Like the countenance of nightI
Seen in its starry gloryH
All ministrant around us throngJ
And breathe their pathos into songJ
Or in tones as rich prolongJ
Some wild melodious storyH
-
Till hark Through many voices oneK
Like a gush of gold doth runK
Why why should kindred severH
Our life is this perpetual feastL
Of being from all care releasedL
Sunny souls are for the EastL
Then dwell with us for everH
