Eden Passing Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCD EFGH IJKL MNO P

Green hill grassy knoll Mossy mountain slopeA
-
The joy that is to come high ridge fresh streamB
ditch and canyon overflowing basinC
To be at ease and without a heavy load in lifeD
-
A place of peace we dwell in joyE
Innocent of the ways of the king's landF
Like Eden without deceit and wicked schemesG
Yet cynicism enters deep withinH
-
Weariness of life drives us far awayI
We are saddened we encounter painJ
This painful world is full of sorrowK
A thing that passes quicklyL
-
only temporary Life dies we cannotM
live it forever We are mortalN
we all departO
-
Our blood returns to the earthP
