Borne downwards by a summer shower | I |

Fell gently on the scanty earth | J |
Among the heaped up stones that lay | K |
And soon a tiny birch had birth | J |
And grew in stature day by day | K |

The sun the shower the passing wind | L |
All helped the youthful tree to grow | M |
Its little roots ran far to find | L |
Subsistence in the depths below | M |
