The Fourth Epigram Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BBCCBBDDEEFF EEGGHH

On GALLAA
-
Now liquid Streams by the fierce Cold do growB
As solid as the Rocks from whence they flowB
Now Tibers Banks with Ice united meetC
And it's firm Stream may well be term'd its StreetC
Now Vot'ries 'fore the Shrines like Statues showB
And scarce the Men from Images we knowB
Now Winters Palsey seizes ev'ry AgeD
And none's so warm but feels the Seasons RageD
Even the bright Lillies and triumphant RedE
Which o're Corinna's youthful cheeks are spredE
Look pale and bleak and shew a purple hewF
And Violets staine where Roses lately grewF
-
Galla alone with wonder we beholdE
Maintain her Spring and still out brave the ColdE
Her constant white does not to Frost give placeG
Nor fresh Vermillion fade upon her faceG
Sure Divine beauty in this Dame does shineH
Not Humane one reply'd yet not DivineH
