Whose Lord was TravellingA
-
-
No sooner I pronounced Celindas nameB
But Troops of wing'd Pow'rs did chant the sameB
Not those the Poets Bows and Arrows lendC
But such as on the Altar do attendC
Celinda nam'd Flow'rs spring up from the GroundD
Excited meerly with the Charming SoundD
Celinda the Courts Glory and its fearE
The gaz'd at Wonder where she does appearE
Celinda great in Birth greater in MeenF
Yet none so humble as this Fair One's seenF
Her Youth and Beauty justly might disdainF
But the least Pride her Glories ne're did stainF
Celinda of each State th' ambitious StrifeG
At once a Noble Virgin and a WifeG
-
Who while her Gallant Lord in Forraign partsH
Adorns his Youth with all accomplisht ArtsH
Grows ripe at home in Vertue more than YearsI
And in each Grace a Miracle appearsI
-
When other of her Age a madding goJ
To th' Park and Plays and ev'ry publick ShowJ
Proud from their Parents Bondage they have brokeK
Though justly freed she still does wear the YokeK
Preferring more her Mothers Friend to beL
Than Idol of the Towns Loose GallantryL
On her she to the Temple does attendC
Where they their Blessed Hours both save and spendC
They Smile they Joy together they do PrayM
You'd think two Bodies did One Soul obeyM
Like Angels thus they do reflect their BlissN
And their bright Vertues each the other kissN
-
Return young Lord while thou abroad dost romeO
The World to see thou loosest Heaven at HomeO
