The Pin Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCC DEDEFF GHGHII JAJAKK BDBDAA LMLMNN

Dear me what signifies a pinA
I'll leave it on the floorB
My pincushion has others inA
Mamma has plenty moreB
A miser will I never beC
Said little heedless EmilyC
-
So tripping on to giddy playD
She left the pin behindE
For Betty's broom to whisk awayD
Or some one else to findE
She never gave a thought indeedF
To what she might to morrow needF
-
Next day a party was to rideG
To see an air balloonH
And all the company besideG
Were dress'd and ready soonH
But she poor girl she could not stirI
For just a pin to finish herI
-
'Twas vainly now with eye and handJ
She did to search beginA
There was not one not one the bandJ
Of her pelisse to pinA
She cut her pincushion in twoK
But not a pin had slidden throughK
-
At last as hunting on the floorB
Over a crack she layD
The carriage rattled to the doorB
Then rattled fast awayD
Poor Emily she was not inA
For want of just a single pinA
-
There's hardly anything so smallL
So trifling or so meanM
That we may never want at allL
For service unforseenM
And those who venture wilful wasteN
May woeful want expect to tasteN
