Isaiah 24 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFEFGHGHIJKJJLML MEMEMIMMMMEMEMNLNL

The hand of the lordA
Empty the world and lay it wasteB
its inhabitants scattered abroadC
what to the world befall this fateD
as to the priest so with the memberE
As to the master so with his servantF
As with the maid so to its teacherE
As for the seller same be for the merchantF
for the lender So for he that borrowG
as with the taker so for the giver of usuryH
Bound everyone to toilings and sorrowG
For it is said of the voice of almightyH
I
Roses fades and greens withers strawsJ
The earth is defiled by its inhabitantsK
they have all disobeyed the lawsJ
and broken its everlasting convenantsJ
the land is under a strong divine spellL
Its kindred each bearing their guiltM
The crowd are flogged and expellL
And very few are left behind atiltM
All wines and minerals sourE
The bottle has fallen the drunkardM
Every worship places in closureE
Drums and piano are mute and sadM
I
We moan our city in desolateM
The gate of our countries barredM
Horses and sheep halt their blateM
Their owner has left grasses ungarneredM
Men that flew from sound of terrorE
Have been drowned into a deep pitM
The earth is shakened in great horrorE
it sways like a cottage loosing its sitM
The lord almighty in wrath has reproveN
the powers in the heavens belowL
And kings in the darkest matter aboveN
Lord God will reign as all earth will knee lowL
