When Does It End? Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCEFGHGIJIFKLKL| I know you have been asking | A |
| That question of old | B |
| Of the troubles with days passing | A |
| Of the horrors untold | B |
| They told you to be strong | C |
| Told you not to be in haste | D |
| Yet you never did belong | C |
| In this mindless unfair place | E |
| Yours is the joy as the early ray of the rising sun | F |
| Meets the leaf resounding peaceful green | G |
| But as you have been and are but a man | H |
| Comes with it all the grim you have seen | G |
| The pain of death and loss and tragedy | I |
| The void from holding on to the happier days gone | J |
| Know that this is no malady | I |
| For pain is a battle and not all battles should be won | F |
| For if life is a battle then life is pain | K |
| There is therefore no need to pretend | L |
| That we do not pray for the rain | K |
| And beg that question When does it end | L |
