The End Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEBF GHIJKL HMNOPP QHRR

Only once will I see youA
Only once will I hear you speakB
All my life I have heard you callC
But only once I will followD
And do so without choiceE
For there will no longer be freedom when I have heard you speakB
And so you will always have the last wordF
-
You have hovered over me long enoughG
Disguised and PatientH
You waitedI
For just a touchJ
You watched me liveK
Watched me breathe every secondL
-
I guess my whole life has been counting down to this momentH
When your touch will free me of what gave me freedom and what made me boundM
Of what gave me sight and made me blindN
Of what made me rich and made me poorO
Of what showed me love and brought me painP
Of what made every breathing second worth the rainP
-
I wonder how it feels to follow and never be seenQ
Always be so close and yet seem so irrelevantH
To see the path before the grass is clearedR
To be the end when the end is fearedR
