A First School Day Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDE FCEFE GHIJC CKLMN KNNKO COPCQ

Holiday was over and goneA
And to school you must goB
Mother's clumsy voice croakedC
To read write and to learnD
And spell count and not playE
-
Oh why this torment I'll cryF
To under learning bowels seatC
And learn read and not playE
Under cages of whips outcryF
In sorrow and dismayE
-
Oh God to seat among vipersG
Whose voices terrible songs utterH
Ignoring my aching heartsI
And the tender cries of my lipsJ
That in anguish crackedC
-
Mum Why to me this tormentC
Of a total freedom denialK
Hurting a tender buttockL
And heart from terrible tauntsM
In disguise of schoolingN
-
Oh The joy comes eternalK
When the jiggly bell ringN
To total freedom unveilingN
In becoming so evely socialK
From bounds under learning bowelsO
-
But the joy is short livedC
As the monotonous clock ticklesO
Like a snail spiny stepsP
Unveiling a new torment signedC
By a loving mum What a miseryQ
