As gently, gently the river flows,
So calm as it merrily rows,
Into the wide open sea,
With decorum and whiting silence.

Unlike the subtle mysterious lake,
That is dark and violently shake,
Full of thorns and blades,
Immobile as it never moves.

Oh! River lend me your peace,
A calm as a lowly piece,
Loving and gently rowing,
Devoid of rancour or war.

River! Your life is worth emulation,
Teach me to Live in peace.
