Epitaphs Iii. O Thou Who Movest Onward With A Mind Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQJRS

O thou who movest onward with a mindA
Intent upon thy way pause though in hasteB
'Twill be no fruitless moment I was bornC
Within Savona's walls of gentle bloodD
On Tiber's banks my youth was dedicateE
To sacred studies and the Roman ShepherdF
Gave to my charge Urbino's numerous flockG
Well did I watch much laboured nor had powerH
To escape from many and strange indignitiesI
Was smitten by the great ones of the worldJ
But did not fall for Virtue braves all shocksK
Upon herself resting immoveablyL
Me did a kindlier fortune then inviteM
To serve the glorious Henry King of FranceN
And in his hands I saw a high rewardO
Stretched out for my acceptance but Death cameP
Now Reader learn from this my fate how falseQ
How treacherous to her promise is the worldJ
And trust in God to whose eternal doomR
Must bend the sceptred Potentates of earthS
