The Convict's Return Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCC ADCE FGHG IIDJE AKLK

Ye mountains and glens of fair Scotland I'm with ye once againA
During my absence from ye my heart was like to break in twainB
Oh How I longed to see you and the old folks at homeC
And with my lovely Jeannie once more in the green woods to roamC
-
Now since I've returned safe home againA
I will try and be contentD
With my lovely Jeannie at homeC
And forget my banishmentE
-
My Jeannie and me will get marriedF
And I will be to her a good manG
And we'll live happy togetherH
And do the best we canG
-
I hope my Jeannie and meI
Will always happy beI
And never feel discontentD
And at night at the firesideJ
I'll relate to her the trials of my banishmentE
-
But now I will never leave my Jeannie againA
Until the day I dieK
And before the vital spark has fledL
I will bid ye all good byeK
