Keepe On Your Maske (version For His Mistress) Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDEFFGGAACCHHAA DDFFIIJJKKLLFFDDMMAA

Keepe on your maske and hide your eyeA
For in beholding you I dyeA
Your fatall beauty Gorgon likeB
Dead with astonishment doth strikeB
Your piercing eyes that now I seeC
Are worse than Basilisks to meC
Shut from mine eyes those hills of snowD
Their melting vally do not shewE
Those azure paths lead to despaireF
O vex me not forbear forbearF
For while I thus in torments dwellG
The sight of Heaven is worse than HellG
In those faire cheeks two pits doe lyeA
To bury those slaine by your eyeA
So this at length doth comfort meC
That fairely buried I shall beC
My grave with Roses Lillies spreadH
Methinks tis life for to be deadH
Come then and kill me with your eyeA
For if you let me live I dyeA
When I perceive your lips againeD
Recover those your eyes have slaineD
With kisses that like balsome pureF
Deep wounds as soone as made doe cureF
Methinks tis sicknesse to be soundI
And there's no health to such a woundI
When in your bosome I beholdJ
Two hills of snow yet never coldJ
Which lovers whom your beauty killsK
Revive by climing those your hillsK
Methinks there's life in such a deathL
That gives a hope of sweeter breathL
Then since one death prevails not whereF
So many antidotes are nereF
And your bright eyes doe but in vaineD
Kill those who live as fast as slaineD
That I no more such death surviveM
Your way's to bury me aliveM
In place unknown and so that IA
Being dead may live and living dyeA
